咎め

とがめ【咎め】

〔非難〕 blame; censure; 〔処罰〕 punishment.

●良心の咎め pangs [an attack, a twinge] of conscience; a bad conscience

・気の咎め qualms; misgivings; discomfort

・神の咎め divine punishment.

●咎めを受けるようなことはしていない. I've done nothing for which I can be blamed [deserving blame, to be blamed for].

●それについては何のお咎めもなかった. She went scot free on that occasion. | She received no punishment for that incident.

・彼についてはお咎めなしとなった. He was acquitted. | The case against him was dropped.
